Makayla & Harvey’s River Upland Farms wedding couldn’t have been on a nicer spring day in the Virginia mountains!

River Uplands Farm is such a beautiful wedding venue. Nestled in the mountains, there’s both an old Victorian farmhouse and a rustic cabin on the property as well as a big barn that comfortably houses the reception. But the real show-stopper at this venue is the mountain scenery—and just wait until you see their ceremony site—so pretty!

Both Makayla and Harvey got ready in the old Victorian farmhouse. Makayla’s mom and sister were with Makayla, and her mom helped her step into her dress. Makayla’s grandma’s engagement ring was tied underneath her bouquet, which was stunning—Country Garden Florist did a beautiful job with all the florals!

Harvey’s dad and mom were by his side while he got ready, and his mom helped him with his boutonniére before grabbing a big hug. The couple wore cowboy boots—perfect for walking all around the property for wedding portraits, and these two covered a lot of ground!

Before the ceremony, the couple shared a First Touch. This is different from a First Look because they couldn’t see each other (although Makayla definitely sneaked a little peek!) They held hands with their backs together while they read the vows that each had written. This was such a sweet and sentimental moment shared between the couple and more than a few tears were shed.

Willow Britt photographers Stephanie & Kailey had a blast and were over the moon with the amount of time the couple dedicated to capturing wedding portraits. (Nothing makes a wedding photographer’s heart happier than having lots of time for wedding portraits!)
