Megan & Josiah couldn’t have had a more perfect day for their Old Town Alexandria engagement photos at Carlyle House and the historic waterfront.

Carlyle House Historic Park features a stately 1753 Georgian stone estate and beautiful gardens. Situated right in the heart of Old Town Alexandria just a block or so from the waterfront, Carlyle House was the perfect place for us to meet for engagement photos!

Megan is currently attending graduate school at the University of South Carolina, while Josiah is finishing his bachelor's degree at Millersville University in Pennsylvania. The two scheduled a weekend where they met up in the middle for their wedding shower, and so we would be able to capture their engagement photos!

The couple met in Bible study when they were both at Millersville University. When the two were dating, they attached a love lock to the chain link fence on the dam at Lake Murray in SC. Sometime later, the two had returned for an outing at Lake Murray, and Megan asked if they could go find their lock to take a photo with it. Josiah simply smiled and said, "I have a better idea." He then sank to one knee and asked Meghan to marry him!

I loved meeting these two and we couldn’t be more excited to be shooting their Murray Hill wedding this summer in Leesburg, VA.
